Today is the day we start or continue to get organized. We all know the feeling, once we tackle various areas of our house and get organized. That pile of paper stack that somehow keeps getting tall. You would think: Wasn't it only last week that I got rid of so much stuff? How did this happen?
Some tips and tricks: I leave tackling it when I'm watching TV, the time when I don't want to think anymore. It works so well. I love seeing all the pile that needs to be in the paper recycling bin! In between commercials they get tossed.
We had all our family photos digitized. That was the fastest, in a very short time they got professionally digitized. Some 10,000+ photos within two weeks! However, the huge task of sorting thru them is amazing! They are all now in boxes. How do I tackle that task? I still cannot get rid of everything, even though they are all digitized! I guess I'm too sentimental to let go. But eventually I have to get all those 10+ shoeboxes and 2 xerox box full of paper photos sorted into:
1. photos to keep - make sure at the end I have ONLY the most sentimental and best photos in ONE SHOEBOX. Wish me good luck with that
2. Making bundles to give to friends/family. These are in envelopes marked with the person's name
3. A box to make photo gifts - perhaps offer a crafts session where others would join me, making it more fun than a lonely task
4. Some albums that the photos are taken off and digitized are already discarded. What a great feeling, creating some room. I still have sentimental albums I have to make a decision: do I keep them? Perhaps the wedding album stays. Keep it down to only three: Wedding album, Alex' album and Paul's album
I will update this page and talk more about this topic. If you have tips, let's hear from you.
